If you ask lay people of today what we desire most in our priests, the answer may astonish you: We desire you to be priestly. Saintly, holy priests on fire with love of God and everyone, dispensers of the sacraments leading us to holiness, teaching us Gods Truth, making us strong and effective in our witness. You must go to the people, not wait for the people to come to you. You must be seen among us. Be easy to approach. Speak ordinary language, so that through you we may see.
